Range of Services:
By working in partnership with parents and
other agencies, and by utilising the wide range of skills available, we can offer a range
of services which are available to all parents and carers (grandparents, childminders
etc.) of young children aged 0 - 3 years.
Activity Based Parent Support Groups:
A range of locally based groups which provide:

opportunities for children's development through play.

support for families to enhance their understanding of, and
their ability to meet, the needs of their child.

opportunities to develop social networks.

assistance to parents to access local provision and mainstream services.

Individual Work:
Parents
experiencing difficulties can request individual support
(through their health visitor, nursery or social worker) from a
range of professional staff on issues which may affect their
ability to parent with confidence.
Career Development Advice:
The provision of support to parents of very
young children by Sure Start career advisers to develop the
educational/employment potential of parents who want to return to work and to advise on
benefits, childcare, options and choices etc.
